Sleep come find me

The sun comes up but does not shine

Radio is on but there is no sound
I put coffee to my mouth but it has no taste
Blanket over my shoulders, but still no warmth

Over by a window to search for hope
A sign of light, a sign of life
I throw the curtains open and hold my breath
only to find large clouds hastily close

I see shadows growing tall and gray
before they’re swallowed by the night
I leave the window cold and dark
No sign of light, no sign of life

I find a corner to comfort me
and fold myself down into a ball
May sleep come quick to find me
To ease my heart and soothe my soul

Ohhh my goodness! I love this poem, I love this piece....What was your mood while you were doing it?
Please, notify me if prints EVER come available. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you very much!
I wrote this about a week ago when I was going through a very challenging time (Amongst other things I found out someone very close to me has a terrible alcohol problem & my grandma died) I haven’t been writing for years and I was hesitant to post. I will of course be happy to make you a print. I’ll send you a PM

The scope of your talents never ceases to amaze me. I can relate to this poem... maybe that's why I find it so powerful.

Sometimes words cannot always bring you the comfort you need and sometimes angels feel farther than your reach...Everything will work out like it should Like everything has it season and reason We walk in the light and bathe in the sun

Sending you hope across the distance

A very touching and beautiful poem. I would love to have the opportunity to read more of your writing. I enjoy writing my self, your poem is lovely. The drawing also gives visual expression to the poem, and helps one to visualize what is being said in the poem. Everyone feels the way you feel in the poem at some point, and then when you least expect it, light comes shining back through to your life. All the Best to You!

Very sorry to learn of your challenges. Your writing is good, so good that it's hard for me to read in my current mood. I wonder, will the cloud ever really lift?

Your gifts seem to know no bounds and if it helps at all, and though I've probably said similar before, I find your works, in any medium you choose, to be truly astounding.

My blog has been quite quiet for a while but now I’m feeling special knowing you all stopped by.

Lee, I do believe the cloud will lift as long as we keep our eyes on the sun that is beyond. Or as David Ford says ‘Shit happens but if it doesn't kill you, get up and keep moving forward'
