I get a number of questionnaires from art students every week and one of the questions that always come up is; ‘Where do you get your inspiration?’ It’s a difficult question since the answer will differ from painting to painting. Sometimes my head is running away with me and I just need an outlet. Other times I see the work of great artists and I feel moved to my very core. I think it’s crucial for any artist not only to spend hours behind the easel creating but also find things that lifts your spirit. So in this exceptionally bust time where I am getting ready for the New York ArtExpo (opening March 25th) this is exactly what I did; spending a fantastic day at the Telfair Museum of Art here in Savannah. What is it that lifts your spirit?
